The Deaths of Chromie
I was very excited when I heard that there would be a new scenario, The Deaths of Chromie. At first I didn’t want to be spoiled and refused to read anything about it. Little did I know that it isn’t just a simple scenario, it’s quite an event…
There are portals to unlock, a reputation to level,… and, most important: you can run the scenario as much as you want! Since I never read anything about it, I didn’t know that last fact so, when I started the scenario and saw the timer at 15 minutes, I panicked. So much to do in such little time… I’m going to fail! Once the 15 minutes were over, I realized it was repeatable and, with a sigh of relief, started running it over and over again.
If I were to give any advice… unlock the portals first! You’ll have to go to the dragonshrines to kill and collect stuff which will lead to having to kill an end boss. Each time you’ll defeat the related Dragonshrine for the first time, a portal will unlock. There are four in total, my favourite being “The Culling of Stratholme”. I don’t want to spoil too much so, I won’t go into any details!
The ultimate goal of the scenario is to defeat 8 timeways in one attempt. I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’m first leveling my reputation with Chromie in order to unlock more of her talents, which will make her stronger. My reputation has currently reached “Epoch-Mender”, only one more left after that (Timelord), and then I’ll finally make my attempt for a speed run.
In the meantime, I hope you’re all having as much fun as I do, and good luck on the speed runs!
Ah, I tried this scenario too, going into it blind, not knowing anything beforehand.
I now play with a piece of homemade paper with a smiley on it, taped to my screen, to cover that timer – because it just stresses me out!
At first I disliked the scenario A LOT, I still do, partly, the timer thing, I just dont care for much of it. I want a challenge that require for me to use all the skills I have in my arsenal. Not a challenge where I have to fly as fast as possible and be lucky on the RNG. (Mythic +, anyone?)
Now I am slowly warming up to it though, and just treat it like an adventure.
What a gorgeous mount…
Oh, did I say that already?
By the way, use the Inky Black Potion in Dragonblight 🙂 ♥
Little tip: If you’re far from the wyrmrest temple, just die (fall from high), and you repop instant at the temple 😉
Ah, I refuse to give into such foolish tactics! Dying to make progress…Pfff!
😀 Kidding 😉
I agree with you… It doesn’t make sense at all, they could have provided a “recall” ability with a cooldown. Hop, another suggestion ????
So, you actually cover up the timer on your screen ^^? I understand what you’re talking about though… pretty stressing with a timer… I wonder if I’ll ever succeed a speed run. I know that the day I will run that I’ll be like a nerve-ball beside Sardoken…
Other than that it’s pretty fun 🙂 I love leveling my rep with Chromie. If the timer wouldn’t be there it would have been even more awesome! 🙂
I haven’t tried that potion yet in Dragonblight… next time when I get there, I will 😉
I do, yes 🙂 I can just focus better if I am not “rushed” by a timer. I am sure you can manage a speed run in the future! It is down to RNG too, though, as far as I can grasp; being lucky on which portal/boss spawn drop item thing, you get etc.
Yes, indeed. No timer would make it even greater. For me, I just set aside the full 15 minutes pr run to explore ONE shrine at the time at first :p That way I have gotten my exploring-nature satisfied, for at least a little 🙂
Same here… I first like to explore every shrine and portal to the max before starting to rush things. After all, exploration is the most fun thing in WoW 🙂
I really like this scenario, haven’t beat it yet but am slowly getting there! Are you using any specific tactics?
Hello Bryssa 🙂 Well, I haven’t beaten it yet either. But it’s all about getting all the right buffs, killing your char when located at the furthest dragonshrine and most of all, the rng. If all the right items drop, you’ll be able to beat it, if not, tough luck. Also, you have to kill mobs located near the shrines to obtain more buffs,… i haven’t done that yet since I think that it takes an awful lot of time… maybe I should though… Anyway, good luck on the run! Maybe you’ll beat me to it ^^
